What is therapy?

Therapy provides a safe confidential place, separate from your daily life, where you can explore issues or feelings which are causing you difficulty. The therapy I offer is open ended, usually once a week. However it may at times be appropriate to negotiate a date to end at the beginning - we can discuss this.

How will therapy help you?

We all know that it is ‘Good to talk’ and that ‘A problem shared is a problem halved’. So, why do you need to pay a professional? Because a professional is exactly that, someone who will help you become aware of what is causing  you to feel a certain way,  or what it is that causes you to repeat unhealthy life situations.

As a therapist I will encourage you to talk about your thoughts and feelings. Often we will look at events that have occurred in your past in an attempt to understand how they are affecting your present life, and will continue to affect your future. You are the person who knows you best, my role is to support and encourage you through your journey.

What can therapy help with?

Therapy can help with many ‘ailments’ from a serious mental health issue, a midlife crisis or even a somatization. Below is a list of areas in which I specialise, this is not exhaustive so feel free to contact me to discuss your situation in more detail.

• Childhood sexual abuse

  1. Depression

  2. Disability

  3. Desire to change your life

• Loss or bereavement
